Your Path to Well-being
Discover the supportive and compassionate counselling services at Shine Psychotherapy. Meghan is committed to helping you find hope, experience joy, and cultivate self-love and peace. I offer a safe space where you can explore your path to well-being and lasting change. A variety of the following therapeutic approaches will be used depending on what feels right for you!

Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, evidence-based therapy that recognizes we all have different "parts" within us, inner voices or patterns that developed to protect us, but may now be causing pain or getting in our way. Rather than seeing these parts as problems to eliminate, IFS helps you approach them with curiosity and kindness, uncovering the deeper wounds they carry and restoring a sense of inner harmony. The result is a profound shift in how you relate to yourself, one that fosters lasting healing, self-compassion, and a stronger connection to your own inner wisdom.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
ACTis a mindfulness-based approach that helps you build a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than fighting or avoiding them. Through ACT, you'll develop the psychological flexibility to stop letting fear, worry, or self-doubt hold you back and start taking meaningful steps toward the life you want. It's a practical, values-driven therapy that empowers you to move forward with clarity and purpose, even in the face of life's inevitable challenges

Brainspotting
Brainpsotting is a powerful, brain-body therapy that helps you process and release trauma, emotional pain, and deeply held stress that traditional talk therapy may not reach. By identifying specific eye positions (brainspots) that correspond to unresolved experiences stored in the nervous system, we can access and heal what lies beneath conscious awareness. It's a gentle yet profound approach that supports lasting change, often working where other methods have fallen short

Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples
The Gottman Method helps couples build stronger relationships through practical tools and exercises. You'll learn to manage conflict constructively, deepen friendship and intimacy, and create shared meaning.
EFT helps couples identify negative patterns and create secure emotional bonds. You'll learn to recognize the cycle that keeps you stuck and develop new ways of connecting.
